You know what shook me when I was Muslim?
The Quran actually mashes a bunch of MAJOR stories together. For example, Saul and Gideon, it straight up remixes the biblical account and then calls it “New Revelation.”
In 1 Samuel, Saul is chosen as Israel’s king. He’s tall, strong, and anointed by Samuel.
In Judges 7, Gideon is the one who tests his army by the water. Those who lap like dogs are cut, those who drink properly stay.
Two different leaders. Two different times in history.
But in Surah 2:246–252, the Quran gives that water test to Saul.
That’s like saying George Washington crossed the Atlantic Ocean to discover America in 1492.
Totally different people. Totally different events.
But the Quran fuses them into one blended story.
Why is nobody talking about this?
That’s not Revelation—that’s confusion.
The details are undeniably the same, and it’s undeniably a mix-up.
And here’s what hit me:
As a Muslim reading the Bible, I realized something.
The Bible is laser precise with names, places, and timelines, because God actually moved in real history.
But the Quran feels like someone overheard Jewish and Christian stories, mashed them together, and turned them into a moral lesson.
And if the book I was reading can’t keep Saul and Gideon straight, how could I trust it with my eternity?
The God of Scripture doesn’t blur history.
He writes it in detail, and every story points forward.
The entire Old Testament is a witness to the coming of Christ. And that’s why I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
I am receiving death threats for preaching Jesus Christ. But I will not live in fear. God is with me, and He is my protector. No threat can silence the truth. No fear can overcome faith. I will keep speaking the name of Jesus Christ.
Many people who have not read the Bible are fond of telling others that it’s a book teaching us to love one another.
Mind you, it DOES tell us that.
But it spends countless pages showing us how much we humans fail at doing so, even killing the prophets God sent to warn us.
It tells us God Himself came in human form, lived a perfect life, and we killed Him anyway.
If anything, the Bible teaches us how much we hate the truth, how greatly we prefer sin over goodness, and how willingly we walk away.
And despite all of this, for reasons we can’t comprehend, God STILL chooses to love us and give us numerous chances to repent. God gave us a way out of sin. God modeled behaviors we need to follow.
And God proved that without Him, we can’t be good. We can’t love one another like Christ did if we aren’t following Christ.
If anything, the Bible teaches us that God had every reason to give up on humanity, yet He has chosen to redeem us anyway, despite our imperfections.
Love is looking at a broken, wicked populace, and still seeing good in them. And when we understand just how undeserving we humans are, we can learn to love a God who submitted to torture and death on a cross simply because He loved us more than we could love Him in return.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23 ESV
All means you, me, and everyone else, even those yet to be born. I don’t know why God puts up with humanity, and yet He does, wanting all of us to be redeemed and giving us innumerable chances.
So yes, the Bible teaches us to love, yet it also teaches us how unloveable we are and how much we fail to love. How we can ONLY love in Jesus, for without Him, we fail. We don’t know why Jesus gave us a second chance, nor will we ever discern why this side of heaven. All we can do is demonstrate our thankfulness and live accordingly.

@softawakening_ I just tell them that I'm not sharing my personal information with them. Most of them then stop talking to me. But I don't have to speak falsehoods.
