WR Perfect Drill
- The "Perfect Drill" is a foundational exercise used daily at FIU to train wide receivers.
- Coaches should keep the drill at a very slow tempo and pace, as it is not intended to overexert the athletes.
- The primary focus of the drill is total control and proper technique rather than speed.
- A key technical goal is developing violent hip movement when the receiver reaches the top of their breaks.
- When players reach the middle cone, the emphasis is on catching the ball and immediately getting vertical.
- The drill is versatile and can be used to train different releases or various routes that require the same mechanics.
