@JLRichy yeah - prior to Katrina, bfhs was a magnet school, which, unlike charter or private schools, are actually part of the local public school system. this is why it qualified for a type 3 charter (has to be a former public school). charter schools are not public schools.

@elsbet @Brouhandas i don’t disagree with your sentiment, but bfhs is governed by a corporation (AAEE inc) and has a board or trustees. By definition, a type 3 charter school is - in part - under the purview of a private nonprofit corporation.
