77-year-old Steven Tyler surprised the world by taking the stage at "Back to the Beginning", the historic event that marks the definitive end of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne's solo career.
With his raspy voice, incendiary presence and a charisma that crosses generations, the Aerosmith vocalist sang "Whole Lotta Love", Led Zeppelin's absolute classic, and proved that he is still one of the greatest frontmen in rock history.
Steven Tyler had not played a big show since 2023, when he suffered a larynx friction.
At his side, a real time of sounds: Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Andrew Watt (producer of Ozzy and Post Malone), Rudy Sarzo (bass - ex-Ozzy, Dio, Whitesnake) and Chad Smith (drums - Red Hot Chili Peppers).
Tyler has shown that he still has the potential to do wonders on stage.

This is the most valuable thing I own. It’s a folder of photos of my father, spanning his life from being a baby, an educator, a husband and a father. It’s the only evidence of his life that will exist over time. These are the “documents” you read about people taking from their homes. When you hear someone say they’ve lost everything in a fire, this is much of that everything, if not all of it. Those who say they’ll be okay still have their folders and their albums. Those who are inconsolable have lost them. Just behind the immeasurable loss of life is the loss of the proof of life. I don’t practice prayer but tonight I will say one for everyone who no longer has these items. It’s not about the art and the collectibles. It’s the photos, the letters, the class rings, the eyeglasses and the things we keep to remind us that those we loved were here. May those who have lost so much find some semblance of hope and support from their family and friends. Stay safe, look out for yourself and for one another, and trust that humanity and all it entails, though sometimes hard to see, is alive and well. This is truly devastating.
Someone once said you should never meet your heroes—but they never met Steven Tyler.
As a high school senior, I snuck backstage at an outdoor Aerosmith concert trying to get Steven a drawing I made for him.
After a Mission Impossible-style bit of maneuvers, I managed to jump onto the trailer hitch to the band's dressing room and pushed the sketch into the window before security could reach me. Steven was on the other side of the glass. His eyes bulged out and he smiled and motioned for me to come around to the door on the other side of the trailer.
By the time I got there, there were fans surrounding him and I worried it was too late.
I heard him say, "Where's the guy with the drawing?"
The crowd parted and there I was, face to face with my greatest musical hero. Steven was soft-spoken and kind, looking me in my eyes and telling me how much he liked my drawing.
As he signed it for me he said, "Do you have something with your name on it?" I didn't.
Someone handed me a pen and paper and I could barely hold onto them but I somehow managed.
We took a picture together (which took days to get developed back then) and I went to school the next day as a minor celebrity: the guy who met Steven Tyler.
A few months later I was at my girlfriend's house after "staying home sick from school."
My dad called me there.
He said, "You were supposed to be home."
"I know." I responded, feigning guilt.
"Well," he replied, "you should have been. Steven Tyler just called."
I screamed, dropped the phone and nearly passed out.
He left a return number so I called it. It was Aerosmith's manager. He read me a note Steven had left, saying that I was a wonderful artist and asking if I would send him something for a possible later project.
I worked on the piece and sent it to the address provided.
I never heard back after that, but I will never forget the kindness he showed me at our meeting, how amazing it was to know that my hero kept my number all that time and remembered me, and how much joy and confidence it filled me with.
@IamStevenT you are the best of the best and I'm grateful for the gift you gave me and millions of others.
Dream until your dreams come true...
The greatest rock band in American history has retired. As a lifelong fan, I want to thank Aerosmith for all the amazing music & memories, which will live on forever.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.” #Aerosmith
Let's remember a day for Steven Tyler and Aerosmith together. The band just announced that they are not going to complete the farewell tour and said goodbye to touring due to the complications of Steven Tyler's voice.
It was January the 31th of 2014 when Steven Tyler took the stage for a dream song, which turned into a reality in his life with Aerosmith.
The song is Dream On, the classic, hauntingly beautiful lyrics that insist on singing, just singing together for a lifetime.
Ladies and gentlemen, Steven Tyler, Slash (Guns N Roses), and Train performing 'Dream On', live at Howard Stern's Birthday Bash.
Now this time, you can listen this masterpiece for a farewell, thank you so much for everything you put into the rock music Aerosmith.
Please enjoy.

THE END OF AEROSMITH.
Aerosmith cancels its farewell tour due to complications with Steven Tyler's voice, officially closing an era.
Thank you Aerosmith for all the music. It's sad to see the best fall, but it's a fact of life.
Mega respect for @Aerosmith knowing when to call it vs dragging their legacy through the mud. They could have easily pulled a lip synch job like some major acts charging major money are doing. They knew when to say when with integrity and my final show I saw a few years ago remains a great final memory of them.
AC/DC performing "Thunderstruck" live at River Plate, 2009.
This was probably one of the best concerts ever.
Just look at the Argentine crowd, they gave their all! 🤘🏻🎸

Townes Van Zandt's kitchen performance of Pancho & Lefty from Heartworn Highways is another all-timer. Watch the doc if ya haven't already, it's great.
