"I've seen what a car can do to someone"
@SeanLandersBike tells us about his girlfriend Gabriele who was killed on her bike after a collision with a truck driver & urges road users to rethink how they interact with cyclists

Not gonna lie. This is a tough topic but I implore everyone to listen and share this podcast, especially with non-cyclists.
Gabby is sadly missed, she was so smart, talented, kind, funny and wow could that girl win bike races.
She was killed doing what she and so many of us love doing the most...riding our bikes.
@Roadman_Podcast An honour to talk about Gabby, but not in this way. We talked about many important messages here let’s hope it gets in the ears of people outside of our cycling circle 🙏🏼
Please share 🙏
Last week a former team mate of mine was hit & killed out training.
Sean Landers joined me on the pod today to talk about the day his partner Gabby was hit & killed by a car.

@IrishTimes It’s crazy to read people giving out about cyclists on a post about a Father who left his wife and 3 kids to go for a cycle - such an innocent and harmless activity (prove otherwise) on a Sunday morning. RIP John.
Are the people who hate cyclists happy now?
Just finished up my hardest conversation in 950 episodes.
I chatted with one of Ireland's top cyclists, Sean Landers @SeanLandersBike about the tragic death of his partner Gabriele Glodenyte.
She was hit by a car and killed on a training ride last May.
Following the tragic death of his long-term partner, Gabriele Glodenyte, @SeanLandersBike speaks on the real-life implications of road accidents involving cyclists.

@offtheball@SeanLandersBike@UCD_Cycling@RSAIreland Fair Play @SeanLandersBike Unfortunately there’s no political will to do anything about it. @RSAIreland will keep urging. Almost taken out of it twice on the way home tonight, One SUV driver broke a Red Light almost hit me, then got aggressive when I pointed out the Lights.

Sean Landers discusses the passing of his partner Gabriele in a road collision while cycling in 2023.
He's also appealing to motorists to take care to protect cyclists.

Just back from 2 week long cycling trip in Gran Canaria. I experience aggression/dangerous driving/close pass more in one cycle in Ireland than 2 weeks here.
The debate isn’t:
- High Vis
- Road Tax
- Breaking red lights
It’s an attitude issue from drivers
Earlier this year, champion cyclist Gabriele Glodenyte was out on her bike for a morning spin in north county Dublin with her boyfriend Seán Landers. Gabriele was 24 years-old, a vibrant young woman who shone at everything she did. But what started as a typical, carefree day for the young couple ended in tragedy.
Gabriele was killed instantly when an oncoming driver crashed his car. As the terrible shock has given way to deep grief, Seán wants to tell the story of that dreadful day, in hopes, he says, that motorists will realise just how vulnerable cyclists are.
