Australian sporting legend Neale Daniher has passed away, aged 65 after a courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
"We’re heartbroken to share that our much-loved husband, Dad and Poppy, Neale Daniher, passed away at home, surrounded by his family," a statement from the Daniher family read.
"We will forever remember him for the lasting impact that he has made on us all. He has inspired, he has loved, he has lived and it would only be fitting to finish with his words - Play On."

An exclusion zone has been set up at a busy Melbourne sporting reserve after a large sinkhole opened up at AJ Burkitt Oval in Banyule Flats Reserve on Monday.
The 8-metre-wide, 5-metre-deep collapse sits above the North East Link tunnel route, prompting locals to question whether underground works caused the damage.
The state government says investigations are underway, with tunnel boring paused as authorities assess the site and ensure public safety.
A North East Link spokesperson said it was aware of a surface hole in Heidelberg, which “is in the vicinity of our tunnelling operations”.
“No injuries have been reported and there is no immediate threat to the community or residential properties.”

At least three people are dead in a shooting incident at Bondi Beach.
Footage posted to social media shows crowds at Bondi running as multiple gunshots ring out. Additional footage appears to show two gunmen firing from a bridge overlooking the beach.
NSW Police are urging people at the scene to remain in shelter.

The Premier has paid tribute to Carrie Bickmore's dedication to brain cancer fundraising, after the Gold Logie winner was named as the 2026 Australian of the Year for Victoria.
The radio presenter and former host of The Project has raised more than $27 million dollars for brain cancer research since 2015.
Bickmore set up the Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation in memory of her late husband, Greg Lange, who died from the disease in 2010.
Bickmore also established The Brain Cancer Centre in 2021 to bring together the brightest minds in research to find a cure.
