@Quicken So I pay you for a service and have to wait 24 hours to use the thing I paid for? Should I send a money order by fax next time? C'mon, people, get it together.
Disagree on the last statement but the "dice roll" is painfully accurate. 10 years ago that second die roll would have included words like "Ninja" and "Guru". We suck at job titles for some reason.
Roll 2d6 to find your design title
1: UX
2: Product
3: UI
4: Design Ops
5: Interaction
6: (roll twice and combine)
1: Designer
2: Analyst
3: Architect
4: Manager
5: Thought Leader
6: Consultant
Regardless of what you rolled, your role will be to draw wireframes.
@minophis @DevWithTheHair That depends on if you think of "creative talent" as wizards who use magic to do what they do. For the non-magic wielders, you can identify what skills (hard and soft) are important to their job and use both their portfolio of work and the way they talk about it to evaluate them.
The headline says it all! Read our Inflection-investor @tysosin's post, to understand what characteristics make a "trifecta" business so appealing to investors, and what makes Indio a trifecta, and therefore an easy & obvious investment for Menlo. https://t.co/SdmxgklIXV #SaaS
Very proud of the Indio Technologies Inc. team and our new round of funding. There's a bright future ahead of us! We're hiring, too --> https://t.co/d47c3Mabex #jobs#funding https://t.co/IAQh2Lcad9
@InVisionApp I just filled out your design career survey and it could use some work. One question asked "this or that" and then provided yes or no answers. Another asked how much my team would grow but didn't allow for over 100% -- I plan on growing it 700%.
But I'm finding myself unable to get out of the habit. I even caught myself mid-sentence the other day and said, clumsily, "Have a...day!" What the hell do I replace it with??
We've hypothesized that when we tell Jack (age 8) to "have a good day", it sets him up for failure. To him, it isn't our hope for him but our expectation of him. And if he has a "bad" day, he doesn't feel comfortable sharing it because he thinks he's let us down.
@peterme Categorical thinking is essential for us to function. The shorthand allows us to go through life without having to evaluate every new thing through spectrums within spectrums. BUT if we're lazy and forget that our shorthand is just that, we miss out on truth.
I'm currently looking for work in a UX/IA/service design in senior level, full time, in Mexico City or remote. Will also do contract work for user research in Mexico. DM me and let's talk!
So. Hi new people! Apparently, we're gonna talk about sex. Like physical sex! Because... there's some confusion.
First, sex defined: We're talking physical sex here, not gender. Body parts, hormones, and genetics (and more).
BLUF: BIOLOGICAL sex is a spectrum
