@zrh_airport I don't know how the legal night curfew works, but you open passport control at 5:00am, which seems to be outside curfew times, so what's stopping you opening passport control all night if you're already infringing curfew?

@zrh_airport has a transit hotel with a rest area, which sounds ideal for an overnight connecting flight. It is on the other side of the passport control gates, which open at 5 am. How does that make any sense?

@zrh_airport Thanks for the reply, but I was exiting the Schengen area anyway, could you not have had border control staff to let me through on a 24 hour basis? Also, the rest area would have been significantly cheaper than any Schengen accommodation I'd guess.
