This past week was special.

A few months ago, I worked at a company where AI enablement was still in its infancy. Today I work somewhere AI adoption and experimentation are encouraged — and I’ve been given the chance to help drive that adoption forward.

A couple of weeks ago, we received a last-minute invitation from @OpenAI to join their next Enablement Cohort. I saw the value immediately and pushed for approval. My boss gave the green light.

This past week was Week One. 🚀🚀🚀

At some point it hit me how much has changed — and how I got here.

For the past few years, I’ve spent nights, weekends, courses, certifications, books, and projects learning AI. Building things. Breaking them. Figuring out why they broke.

I’ve also posted about AI relentlessly. Some of that was self-promotion as I tried to move my career into AI. But that was never the only reason.

I believed something important was happening. I could see the value AI would have, and I wanted people who couldn’t see it yet to have a window into what was coming.

That’s why this week meant so much.

I’m no longer just studying AI after work, building on nights and weekends, or posting about what’s coming. I’m now in a position to help make it happen.

I spent years doing this when nobody asked me to because I believed it was where things were headed. Being able to put that work to use now means a lot.

And we’re just getting started!
