@GalaktixGG That’s actually why so many use the standard deduction. It essentially says that the first $13,850 is actually a 0% tax bracket for those filing single.

@GalaktixGG That’s not quite how they work. You go up in brackets depending how much you make. (Rounding for simplicity)

So your first $10k is at 10%
Then $32k at 12%
$37k at 22%
$81k at 24%
$46k at 34%

So if you do $170k it’s 1k + $3840 + $8140 + $19,440 or $32,420 in taxes.

Let me tell you a tale of someone whose did everything right, and still got screwed:

I can speculate as to why. But the end result is that the only way to benefit from a credit score is to either be well off or appear to be.

The whole system is a racket.
