call. If you're a potential fit, absolutely. But please don't ask. Especially if you sent over no other details.
4. Last, and this may be harsh, but get to the point.
And trust me, I've been guilty of all of these at some point in my career.
TL;DR: Find a way to stand out.
As I comb through hundreds of message, applications, and portfolios a few things I notice:
1. So many DMs are the same recycled message. Hard to tell apart.
2. Asking if you can send your portfolio over? You should have included that.
3. Please do not ask to jump on a quick...
Completely blown away by the response to this. For all who reached out, I’m going to do my best to respond to you. Please know, it’s an overwhelming amount of portfolios to sift through, and I’m starting today. Appreciate you all.
We're hiring. The amazing team I'm working with is hiring a product designer, mobile & web SaaS experience. Ability to move fast. Disclaimer: I'm terrible at keeping up with X, but this is legit. If you love design, want to work remote, and can work fast, let's talk.
@benblumenrose Straight up Claude to Claude Code. Figma is still there if necessary, but dev teams are loving the "direct design" approach right now. We'll see if it holds.
@hunterhammonds This is the thing. The last 3 - 4 weeks (maybe I’m late), I’ve ditched Figma completely and relied on my experience and vision to use Claude Code to builds sites, features, etc. I’m not Petr, but the results have been incredible. And more importantly, all clients are blown away.
@VadeadIesum This isn’t true. Strong Christians build their allegiance with Jesus. If that leads them to Catholicism, great. If it leads them to Protestant, great. Let people find Jesus and then let’s discuss theology.
@RockyRoark@adriankuleszo I have 900 characters left in my description of what I did because I’m cheap and won’t pay for Premium, but you know what you’re doing! I just found it fascinating as I worked through this and felt more encouraged than discouraged afterwards.
@RockyRoark@adriankuleszo Then, I gave design details about my current site, what I like and what I want to change based on the direction I’m looking to go.
@RockyRoark@adriankuleszo I’m far from an expert in this, so take this for what it is!
I first prompted Claude with details about my studio, the work I’ve done, what I’m comfortable working on, and where I want to go with the studio (my vision).
@RockyRoark@adriankuleszo It’s not replacing us, but we better understand it, and how to use it to help interested clients.
As a test, I rebuilt my studio site in a couple of hours just using prompts - and waiting for tokens! If you prompt like a designer, it works. It’s far from perfect, but it works.
@RockyRoark@xcyynical I’m with this. I gave contra a half-hearted try. Maybe my fault, but it just felt like too much work. Luckily, work is coming from other sources, but I was really hoping Contra would be better for me.
@FTFonFS1@getnickwright@getnickwright is also click bait. Any fan base of a coach hired when Sirianni was “available” (ahem, not last year when Vrabel was hired), they would take Sirianni. No questions asked.
