I am loved by God, so I seek to love others. I am His slave, and seek to obey His Word in all that I do, but I still fall short. Praising God for amazing grace!
@UncleRenty@BurkParsons I hear you. What helps me is a deeper understanding of the holiness and worthiness of God.
The day will come when we will rejoice over the justice God metes out on His enemies, including those we have loved here on earth.
All He does is good.
@Phil_Johnson_ Hell is not some nebulous place that just popped into existence and now God has to figure out how to save us from it, but that is what the vast majority of professing Christianity believes today.
The absence of the doctrine of hell is at the root of a lot of their thinking.
@JoelWBerry@Phil_Johnson_ Too many men think it's effeminate to humble yourself before a holy God.
They confuse pride and sticking your chest out for masculinity.
@TheMuppetPastor@sopranosax4444 If someone truly denies themselves, takes up their cross (dies), and follows after Jesus, it is impossible to deconstruct. You're absolutely right...they were false.
False prophets, false professors and false practitioners exist.
Matthew 7: 15-27
@YourCalvinist So all you have to do is believe, not repent from sin...
...but if the sin is homosexuality, then there is no call to anything, belief or repentance, straight to hell, do not pass go.
That's crazy.
@TomBuck Perfectly described, it is exhilarating to study all week, have God work us over in His Word, and then share that same Word with others, knowing the power it worked in us already.
@TomBuck Amen brother, God doesn't laugh, smile or joke about our sin.
People see that clip and think Jesus is just like us because we might do that.
We fail to understand He is holy.
We fail to understand our call to be holy as He is holy.
@tmshort34 @TomBuck God will take care of those who lie, who partake unworthily. I don't see any Biblical precedent to deny anyone unless they demonstrate they are clearly not in the faith through church discipline.
This isn't, however, something I'd go to war over if someone practices differently.
@tmshort34 @TomBuck Communion: Let a man examine himself. I think since we remove the wicked from among us in the same book, they are restricted because they are no longer there, but if they are among us Scripture indicates they examine themselves before partaking with a serious warning.

@Mark__Mac Brother, your father has had great influence on me from a distance without knowing me. So grateful to our Father in heaven for his faithfulness in the little things in the context of the local church. SDG is exactly right.
@SteveDeaceShow@AmyDeace Listen to his interview with Robert Schuller. He basically fell into universalism toward the end. He started well and finished poorly.
