This work was done together with my brilliant colleague Fabio Rizzoglio in the Miller Limb Lab @PresNCM, and we tightly collaborated with @Antihebbiann and Prof. Eric J Perreault throughout the whole project.
Our paper “Using adversarial networks to extend brain computer interface decoding accuracy over time” has just been published on eLife (https://t.co/d421pyew6i). In this work, we tried to address the problems with the long-term stability of intracortical BCI systems.
We tested two architectures, ADAN by brilliant @neural_dragoman, and Cycle-GAN which turned a horse into a zebra. Both achieve good performance and require remarkably little training data, while Cycle-GAN has a better performance which was less affected by hyperparameter tuning.
