Sunderland's Spanish striker Eliezer Mayenda, formerly of Sochaux, will sign a five-year contract with Rennes in a transfer worth around €20 million excluding bonuses
A transfer fee of around €20 million excluding bonuses has been reached for the player whom Sunderland acquired from Sochaux in the summer of 2023 for approximately €1 million, with a 25% sell-on clause. Mayenda, attracted by Rennes and keen on a return to France to experience Ligue 1, has signed a five-year contract with the Breton club, which is also competing in the Europa League.

This transfer stinks of drama, and there will be ramifications for both clubs.
But Chelsea need to get serious and real with their next offer – or do one!

🚨🔵 Xabi Alonso made it clear internally from the start that he wanted to sign Granit Xhaka. 33 y/o captain is in full agreement with Chelsea as revealed. Salary and contract length have all been agreed. #CFC
The transfer fee is expected to be in a similar range to the one paid when Xhaka joined Sunderland. It is now up to the clubs to reach an agreement. Negotiations ongoing. Xhaka is waiting. @SkySportDE 🇨🇭
Sunderland may have to dip into the market for right-back and holding midfield cover in the event that they fail to agree a permanent deal for the versatile Netherlands international, with Le Bris set to rely on his squad even more next season.
Defence is likely to be an area of focus regardless of Geetruida's future, while Traore's exit leaves Sunderland short on left-wing options and they are set to explore potential options in that position this summer
