@Cashflow_Cowboy what makes good businesses more rare going forward? tougher operating environment?
my thesis is that we are heading into a low-beta environment which allows for higher alpha. easier to capture that in operating than investing. all that to say that i agree with you haha
@MikeBotkin_ My wife and I started writing letters to our future selves and our daughters (2y and 8m) this year. Similar to your approach, we want to celebrate milestones in our growth and save memorable stories for later generations. Also a good way to keep us accountable to our goals.
@Cashflow_Cowboy when you go on your family vacation, leave laptops and phone chargers at home. when we went to whislter a few weeks ago, we forgot to bring our phone chargers and left our laptops at home on purpose. we all ended up sleeping like babies including our 7-month-old.
@Cashflow_Cowboy Would love to see it broken down for top quartile PE/VC funds vs the rest. My hunch is that performance laggers are waiting for top-tier shops to mark down first. The pain shall be slow coming.
@guessworkinvest@NickHaschka Investing in public equities is different from every other endeavour where doing little may yield decent results. In everything else in life, repetition and practice get you to the top 1%. In equities, passive index funds beat so many actively managed funds.
@cupazhou@Cashflow_Cowboy Thanks for putting this together @cupazhou and nuggets for FOs venturing into the VC space from @Cashflow_Cowboy. It's on the LPs to figure out what game they're playing and set themselves up for success. Reminds me of Joel's piece: https://t.co/b3Sr589kYN
