Most don’t understand the state of disrepair the program was in when Troy hired Jedd. Very few (8 or less) BIG10 players on roster after Natty.
It takes a little time to build back a strong roster. This is why I made such a vociferous defense of this staff after the Wisconsin game.
Trajectory of program is incredible. And possibly even better talent identification and development than Coach Pete.
A big extension for Jedd was indicated last offseason.
Rise and shine Big10 👀
I’m not sure UW has ever seen talent acquisition at this level. it’s right there with the Chris Petersen era.
And they’re not done yet.
My take on UW Football after yesterday’s loss to Wisconsin.
-Brutal loss. No doubt. Special teams sucked. Defense played great. Offense failed. O Line really struggled against a superior D Line & LB group.
-Weather played a role for both teams. But we had advantage in passing game, weather neutralized that.
-Losing road games at this clip needs to get fixed, no doubt.
I view our struggles through the lens of a very young team that has lots of youthful talent in certain position groups, while lacking talent in others. I believe our OLINE will improve dramatically over next 2 years. That’s a big piece of the puzzle.
I don’t think Jedd is going anywhere (I have no insider info). UCLA would be a step down and he’d have to start over on his rebuild. Also, he’s not the hot candidate he’d be if we had only 1 or 2 losses. Also, sometimes families leave Seattle for very good fucking reasons. Conflating that with our HCs long term plans is foolhardy.
I want Jedd to stay. Love him and his staff and his recruiting. I love his play calling and offense. We just don’t have the talent quite yet to be a 10 win team. Kalen and his staff failed at recruiting. This is common knowledge. I love Jedds 26 class and his OLine guys coming in. Guys who will play fast here as true freshmen.
I’d like to see Jedd get extended and have a higher buyout so we don’t have to pay even more after what I believe will be a very successful 2026 season.
Everyone calling for him to leave are missing the forest for the trees.
Let’s support our Dawgs these last few weeks. Pack out Husky stadium and let’s finish strong!

Pretty incredible recruiting by @MDohertyFB at UW. I’ve been saying it for years now, he’s killing it.
Pulling in NFL talent from all across the country. His staff is recruiting their asses off. Position coaches identifying talent early then grinding.
Of course NIL plays a role, but it’s not first and foremost for all players, or even most.
When you can identify an up and coming beast from across the country and give him his first offer, you know you have an optimized recruiting department.
It’s all about relationships.
Jedd, Matt, and all the coaches live that out.
Proud of you nephew! Lots of hard work and dedication. You’re an incredible young man first and foremost.
Process over outcomes. That’s how you got here. Love you my guy.
Seeing all the photoshoots for official visits at UW.
That’s cool and all. Enjoy the experience. I get it. The ego needs feeding.
Wanna know what’s cooler? Telling your coach “We don’t have time for that. Let’s go watch film and talk ball.”
@SeattleCigars Do you see similarities across other sports and states? Like when watching Idaho women’s basketball do the same issues arise so glaring? Or is it just Washington homegrown football talent you’re seein this with. Am I the only way who’s felt this way about a lot of Cali?
