Thank you all for supporting TRU in 2023!
In November, we raised at least $21,000 towards our $25,000 goal. We sold over 100 Tickets to our fundraiser! We had a fantastic time making puppets with Emmett Montgomery.

Big news: The Pike Place pedestrian pilot is being extended through next spring!
Fewer cars = more space to walk, shop, sit, and enjoy the heart of Seattle. The pilot has created a safer, more welcoming experience for locals and visitors alike — and it’s working.
To address the socioeconomic crisis this will plunge many communities into, Washington State lawmakers should call a special session this year.
The scale of these cuts are too great to meet with a short 60-day legislative session that in any case won’t begin until January 2026.

Women in Black are holding a vigil today for the 19 homeless people who died in Seattle and King County in April. Since the start of 2025, more than 100 homeless people have died in the county.
Organizers are demanding the city provide an already promised city lot for Tent City.
It’s affordable housing week!

NEW: Landlords outnumber renters 3 to 1 in the Washington State Legislature. Keep that in mind while lawmakers fight over rent stabilization this week. https://t.co/vlxoUTDUXm
I appreciate the Seattle Times covering Seattle’s sweeps policies, though none of this should be a surprise to anyone who has been reading my ongoing coverage in Real Change and Gossip Guy.
