pgLang signed an artist, developed her for years behind the scenes, dropped her debut off-cycle on a Tuesday, and used the signing announcement as a promotional vehicle. This approach is so rare it's breaking people's brains 😂
A very complete journey about life and its tribulations, motivation, relationships
At first I felt off, kinda out of it BUT from track 7 till the end it felt like 1 continuous song!!
Good ahh rapping, flows, themes (some of these verses hit HARD) and the choir elements 🤌🏻

Wholeheartedly agree with this review! I just don't pay for twitter so couldn't write as much 😭
I also loved how spacy the beats were along with the choirs, it put Deante's raps in the center despite the sometimes contrasting themes he's diving in
Melancholy hopeful album
Album Review for Junkie in the Sun by Deanté Hitchcock
A Southside Atlanta product has given us a very introspective and smooth album. Deanté’s best quality as an artist is his authenticity. Most rappers, especially the ones from Atlanta, don’t really be themselves when making music and you can tell whereas with Deanté, you can sense how real he is and how purposeful his music can be.
This album has a ton of great bars, and his flow is very unique which allows his music to feel fresh. There’s a tone of brightness but there’s something else that allows the tracks to feel very upbeat as well. That something is the flow and how the production is more so shaped around the flow to enhance each track. You get a solid amount of great hooks as well. These hooks are catchy and very easy to sing along to.
Shoutout to the production. The live instrumentals, especially that trumpet, really brings a level of depth to this project. You have so good bass kicks but also other elements that bring a bright/funky feel to the tracks. The features are really good as well. Samara Cyn kills it, 6lack and J.Wes are also contributing very well. Overall, the level of storytelling, depth and the ability to craft masterful sounds really does allow the album to breathe, flourish and make you enjoy the music as a whole. Definitely an album worth your time.
Favorite Tracks: Electric Revival, Mr. Green Eyes, Smile You’re On Camera
Final Score: 8.9/10
@Waffle925013 Yeah I'd say so! It was kinda hard for me to really get into it but there's def a lot of replay value and some BEAUTIFUL verses in there
Not AOTY contender for me though, if that's what you meant
the most prestigious univerisites in the US have also openly been against attempted governmental blockades of free speech and the administration just doesn't give a fuck. we're currently seeing this fascist mindset transfer over to the UK 1:1.
