Bangkok Opens Green Bridge Linking Lumphini and Benjakitti Parks
Bangkok authorities have opened a newly upgraded “Green Bridge,” creating a 250-metre elevated walkway connecting Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park, in a move to expand continuous green space in the city centre.
Deputy Bangkok Governor Chakkaphan Phewngam visited the project site in Pathum Wan on May 1 to monitor progress. Officials said construction is more than 81.5% complete, with the walkway already open informally to the public while finishing touches continue.
The project includes the 250-metre bridge link as well as upgrades to supporting facilities such as storage buildings, public restrooms, and office space. Landscaping beneath the bridge is also being improved to provide a more shaded and accessible environment.
The bridge is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting May 1, with staff deployed for safety. Once fully completed, the link will form a continuous green corridor between Lumphini and Benjakitti parks for walking, running, and recreation.

So far this week:
Trump threatened to wipe out a civilization on Tuesday.
Announced a ceasefire on Wednesday.
Israel leveled parts of Beirut on Thursday.
Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz, AGAIN.
Gulf states are still intercepting drones.
13 American service members are dead. Over 3,400 Iranians killed. 1,500 dead in Lebanon.
And this administration has the nerve to call this a win.
They light the world on fire and then take credit for calling the fire department.

Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida personally pilot their own aircraft on official trips—something extremely rare among world leaders.
Both are qualified pilots:
The King is a trained military and commercial pilot from his time in the Royal Thai Army, certified on fighter jets (like F-5 and F-16) and large jets including the Boeing 737. He has thousands of flight hours.
The Queen holds a commercial pilot license, with prior experience as a flight attendant for Thai Airways before her military service.
Thailand is stepping up its tourism push into Central Europe, with Poland emerging as a key growth market. New direct flights between Poland and Thailand are expected to improve access and support visitor numbers at a time of disruption on traditional transit routes. Thai tourism officials see Poland’s expanding economy and rising incomes as strong drivers of long-haul travel demand, with Thailand well placed to attract more Polish visitors seeking longer stays and higher spending experiences.
