First of all, it was being exemplified simply, but if you want, let's explore it more "in depth". From the image, what I would correct the most is the part about "why would she feel betrayed by this stranger", since in the end Kilin was her mother's husband and ended up killing her in cold blood and without remorse.
The problem is that this character is handled with a very cliché approach and their father-daughter relationship was not explored consistently. Although a couple of flashbacks from Talia's childhood and Kilin's responsibility for pushing her more and more to the "chrome" were included at the end, it feels more like a plot device trying to fix the coherence of the ending at the last minute.
Regarding Talia's illness, it is mentioned too late that her survival depended on the implants, and the series loses a great opportunity to explore her trauma congruently. For part of the story, Talia can simply be perceived as someone special for her resistance to implants, without establishing a genuine terror towards her own limiting condition until late in the plot, so introducing this fear through sudden flashbacks in the final stretch feels like a plot patch to justify her hatred and the outcome, taking away the impact from what should have been a tragedy built organically step by step.
Now Kyoko. Despite being the one who created Capri, her actions are very erratic. Her motivations bounce around pointlessly: wanting her only for herself, letting them take her away, allying with a rival corpo to get her back, and then being abandoned by her again only to go stop her. Without a clear driving force behind her actions, her movements seem dictated by plot convenience in every episode.
And I won't even mention Capri's dynamics: like her zero interest in forming a deep bond with D and her dramatic, unjustified fixation on Talia when the only thing that can be said she knew about her was that she belonged to the list of those who possessed an extraordinary resistance to implants.
Also, how she abandoned D without giving it much thought and returned later as if nothing had happened makes her a rather incongruent character.
@kuniimitsu@OpalDesuwa Oh darling, did you get mad because I did a narrative evaluation of a commercial work? Awww, you’re just such a pathetic little thing 🥺
