“No government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.” - President Alan Garber https://t.co/6cQQpcJVTd
.@KamalaHarris will be a president for all Americans. She actually cares about making your lives better. Donald Trump only thinks about himself.
I want you to remember this: if someone doesn’t respect you, they should not represent you. That’s not what you need in your life. And we don’t need Donald Trump leading our country for another four years.
How do we apply innovative ideas to megaprojects? 🚄

The future of ultra-high-speed transportation is right around the corner, and if the work on display at the @cahyperloop competition last week was any indication, that future is bright.
Special congratulations to the top-winning student teams from the @UAlberta and @queensu! Their vehicle testbenches stood out and won several awards, presented by TransPod.

#Kharkiv. Weekend. Deliberate strike by a guided aerial bomb on a huge shopping center.
Certainly a brilliant #Putin "peace proposal" (sarcasm). We should definitely negotiate about something with #Russia (sarcasm).
It certainly doesn't make sense to attack Russian airfields and artillery that are on its own territory. Why? It would be an escalation (sarcasm). And is it fair to destroy the aggressor's military assets on the aggressor's territory if you can enjoy the destruction of a Ukrainian city every day (sarcasm).
And of course, no "passive shielding" of Ukrainian sky, no #NATO air defenses and planes that could shoot down genocidal Russian missiles in Ukraine's sovereign airspace. That would, after all, provoke Russia (sarcasm).
One question still remains: provoke Russia to do what, exactly, if it is now killing citizens of another country as deliberately as possible? Oh yes, we should quickly hold "negotiations", agree to the right of the maniacs to slaughter you, finally put an end to international law and forget about Kharkiv and hundreds of other Ukrainian cities. Brilliant plan. A truly "peaceful" plan (sarcasm)...
Our system focuses on carrying pallets and ULD containers. We aim to improve and decarbonate time-sensitive freight instead of standard freight with shipping containers, which can still take conventional trains.
@Sebastien_Gen Do the dimensions allow using standard shipping containers for freight-only traffic?

Creating a Metrolinx type of organization like in Toronto would fit quite well in the project we propose in Alberta since we don't plan to operate in our model.
@ABDanielleSmith, we would be happy to discuss the details at your convenience.
Alberta's new Passenger Rail Master Plan signals a deep commitment to improving the quality of life and boosting the economy in Alberta. TransPod’s own feasibility study for building an ultra-high-speed transportation system connecting Edmonton and Calgary — a trip that will take only 45 minutes — will create 140,000 jobs and add $19.2B to the region’s GDP throughout construction. In fact, we’ve already confirmed $550M USD to build it, and it won't cost taxpayers a dime.
We're excited to contribute to the development of transit systems in Alberta, starting with initiating construction of our test-track. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this journey together!

As we follow the updates coming out of @COP28 and continue our journey toward meeting the 1.5-degree threshold, radical innovation has never been more important. The impact of @SegByDesign’s proposal on CO2 emissions would be significant. For example, just the Toronto-Montreal TransPod line would result in the reduction of 784,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
We’re in the midst of work in #Alberta that will reduce CO2 emissions by 636,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to the amount of carbon sequestered by 780,000 acres of forest per year, which is roughly 4 times larger than the entire city of Calgary.
@SegByDesign reminds us—prioritize existing transit networks, AND continue #innovating to effect real change that is #sustainable, affordable, and brings communities closer together.
