LU decomposition is a nice way of solving Ax=b when you already can solve for A straight forwardly, and makes the job even easier for the computer! #math4410

While we use more modern methods of approximations through Taylor series expansion and Secant methods, Archimedes had to approximate geometrically to solve for the area of a circle! These approximations also solved pi down to 22/7 during his time! #math4410

One way to think of approximations is to imagine you're sculpting a statue. Bisection method is like us sculpting with an axe, Chord method gets us closer to a sword, and Newton's method is our tedious scalpel with very precise approximations #math4410
