@spittinchiclets This is the trend for star players on Canadian teams. Overzealous fans make it less desirable for them to be here, and the media feeds off of it.
@IanGustafson12 Gard has had a tough year, and probably has the best chance of coming back to the WHL. I think there is a good chance that some College team throws a bunch of money at Vlooswyk.
@PatrickHurtubi1@OurLeafsNation As far as I am aware, once he has filed for arbitration, his rights can no longer be traded. They can sign him prior to the arbitration, accept the outcome of the arbitration, or they can let him become a UFA.
@TylerMckenzie12 It's a tournament that nobody cares about, and their roster is comprised of NHL players that weren't good enough to make the playoffs.
OK, yes, that should have been a penalty on Bennett for an intentional forearm to Stolarz's head.
But look at it from the refs' perspective: if they call that, Paul Maurice might hold up some fingers at them, and then they can't call anything for the rest of the series.
@BrandersonTN @spittinchiclets A lot of CHL teams stopped employing staff specialized in developing goaltenders. for over a decade, opting to use one of their import spots on a goaltender. This is what lead to the ban on import goaltenders from 2013 to 2018. Garbage in, Garbage out.
@spittinchiclets Seems pretty likely, given how rattled the Oilers seem right now. Will be pretty rough for them to see Tkachuk hoisting the cup in their arena if they do.
