In these four games, Babar and Rizwan combined scored 210 runs at a strike-rate of 109.38. Pakistan batters produce below par totals, bowlers put effort and take the games close and face the criticism for not finishing them.

In the games below, the MCG game was perhaps the only one where you can say bowlers lost you the game cos 160 in that situation was defendable. But even that total was reached due to middle-order, not the openers (who scored 4 and 0). And there were wrong calls like not having 4th seamer in the XI.

If two batters are using nearly 50 percent of the innings' resources, the onus is largely on them to take the team to winning totals. But as they bat with low SRs, the team is mostly found 10-20 runs short (something the captain acknowledges too in every other game).

This conservative strategy has also stunted the growth of Pakistan's middle-order (cos they have to take more risks and lose positions after a few failures). That's the trend from most of the games. There will obviously be an outlier here and there.
