Former NSW Veterans’ Affairs Minister David Elliott says there is no justification for pushing ahead with the government’s proposed $5,000 allied health cap for veterans.

Speaking on @News24Aust he says reversing the cap would earn the government goodwill. Instead, trust between veterans and the government is being destroyed.

The government can fix this. It should.

Scrap the cap. End the low-balling. Fix the system.

Long-term beneficiary SGT Garry Robinson, pictured in his Commando Welfare Trust cap.

In 2010, Garry was in a helicopter crash during a night-time mission in Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of his leg and several other injuries.

Fellow Commandos Private Benjamin Chuck, Private Timothy Aplin and Private Scott Palmer were lost in the incident on 21 June 2010, and many more were seriously hurt.

This tragic event was one of the final catalysts for the establishment of the Commando Welfare Trust, formed on 20 July 2010.

After extensive rehabilitation, Garry competed in archery, cycling and swimming at the first Invictus Games in 2014, where he won silver in the pool, and he has represented Australia since.

Throughout it all, the Commando Welfare Trust has supported Garry and his family, and it continues to do so sixteen years on.

BREAKING: Cricket Australia just opened the door for a biological male who played boys’ cricket in India to compete in Australian women’s cricket.

Anaya Bangar, former Mumbai U-19 player in the male category, has been cleared to play women’s Premier cricket immediately.

From March 2027, CA says there’s a pathway into elite women’s cricket, including the WBBL, if testosterone stays under their 10 nmol/L rule.

What happened to protecting women and women’s rights?

CA kept a policy the ICC already rejected for international cricket. The ICC banned anyone who went through male puberty from elite women’s internationals.

Cricket Australia looked at that and decided virtue signalling mattered more than fairness for Australian women.

This is not “inclusion.”

It’s throwing women’s sport out the window so a governing body can look progressive.

Women’s categories exist for a reason.

Strength, speed, reach and puberty advantages don’t vanish because a board writes a policy.

Protect women’s sport.

Or stop pretending you care about it.

The Australian Government - the people of Australia - is now more than one trillion dollars in debt. So, how did we get here?

First, let's look at what the interest on that debt is: $24-28 bn a year; $67-76 m a day; $3m an hour.

Imagine what $24+ bn a year could do.

But where did it all come from and how is it still rising?

Well, we could start with NBN blow-outs (out-dated before completed); Turnbull's absurd $444m for the GBR (did they build a giant parasol to protect the coral polyps from Global Warming?); the NDIS farce where you can get six-figure sum a year for being stupid, or "I've got mental health!" which is another euphemism for an IQ under 80, having ADD or ADHD like 90% of under 50yos seem to have; Snowy 2.0 blowing out from $2 bn to $ 40bn (yeah, we're looking at you again, Turnbull).

Now, let's look at some Labor classics just in Victoria: a billion dollars not to build a road; over half a billion not to hold the Commonwealth Games; North-East link blown out from $5 bn to over $25 bn; Westgate Tunnel from $6 bn to over $10 bn - oh, and a lazy $15 bn gone missing to corruption somewhere.

Then there's Sydney's metro $12 bn over budget. WestConnex ballooned from $6.7 billion to $10 billion. Cross River Rail in Queensland $2 billion over budget.

Just in major projects alone, as opposed to social programs: $215 bn annual capital spend with 48% failure rate means tens of billions evaporate yearly in avoidable waste.*

Now, let's look at the $30-40 bn a year on Aboriginal affairs that never seem visible, never achieve anything and have shown not to 'close the gap', with most metrics static or going backwards.

Up pops Albo in 2023-2025 with another $1.1 bn for Alice Springs alone - and for what? Not a single building built; no new services; kids still running rampant on the streets stealing cars and so on. It's simply throwing money around like confetti.

I've touched on just a few areas here but these people aren't capable of running a fish and chip shop - as ironic as that might sound.

If any of these politicians or public servants who oversaw these disasters were in public companies, they'd be fired, prosecuted for negligence and sued so hard every orifice suck up the universe like a black hole.

So why are we OK with this? Why isn't government efficiency more important?

Get the economy right and many other things fall into place: cost of living, general happiness, health and wellbeing.

Except, we just shake our heads again and accept the waste and corruption.

Anthony Albanese used borrowed money to clear the national debt of Nauru while leaving struggling Australians to pick up the bill. They owed $26 million and Albanese gave them $100 million.

Albanese signed a Treaty with Nauru. People from Nauru are able to come to Australia as they please, he gave them all citizenship, due to "climate change"

They'll use Australia for the dole and pension and NDIS and return to debt free tropical Nauru for holidays.
