I could probably write a novel on why I dislike the guy as well as pretty much everyone else on Jake's team, but I'm kind of tired of doing it. I've repeated the exact same points hundreds of times since March 7, 2024. You can read some of my other tweets related to this subject matter, but there's just so much I have said about Jake's team and their decisions over the past few years. I genuinely despise them.
So, I just went through the full Invincible comics series. I have to say... man. Those final few issues really got to me.
SPOILER WARNING:
That final battle between Mark and Thragg inside the sun was outrageously good. The dialogue (in Mark's head) was unbelievable. It's kind of hard imagining Thragg going out in such a brutal way considering how much of an apex predator he currently is in the show. He seems reasonable and intelligent by the end of Season 4. However, by the end of the comic series, he becomes an absolute psychopath, and Mark denigrating the crap out of him as he slowly melts in the sun in pure terror and agony is absolutely visceral.
I also love how Robot is actually the "final boss" of the series. People who've only watched the show are going to be devastated by the Robot arc. When I watched the show for the first time, I didn't think much of Robot. He seemed like just another one of the heroes who occasionally did questionable things. The fact that he becomes a dictator on Earth and Mark kills him in the final major confrontation of the series, imprisoning his brain in a tube (again) so that he can aid humanity without resorting to extreme measures to maintain peace (basically the fear we have of what AI can do to us) is quite emotional. The final scene involving him is basically Monster Girl telling him that he'll have to live with the consequences of his actions, imprisoned in a tube alone forever. That's honestly really tragic.
Yeah, this comic series didn't hold back with the emotional beats. I really hope the TV show can capture those feelings. I didn't feel much reading the first 12 issues of the series, but I was enthralled by the first season of the show (which ended at about the same point). If they can improve upon the comics in the final few seasons in a similar fashion, we're going to get a truly emotional and satisfying conclusion to an incredible story. I really hope they don't mess the animation up or stretch the story too thin by having too many seasons.
@LordShango@Xipher_crypto@HappyPunch You think Jake put a hit on Anthony Joshua to try to kill him? Yeah, that makes sense, even though it was a car accident that took place halfway across the world from where Jake was at the time. It's honestly baffling how the Internet has reached this level of mass psychosis.
Let's not forget how he swam in a sewer in nothing but his underwear, ate pickles from a jar that was submerged in the sewer waters, and then poured pickle juice onto a wound that he got from swimming in the sewers. It's honestly a miracle he's still alive.
iDubbbz wasn't funny because he said slurs. He was funny because he was... well, funny. Watching this again after not having seen it for so many years is kind of depressing. This guy made some of the best content on YouTube.
@YarglesPrankles@SportsSeason_ Well, I don't know if he's in chronic pain, but, yes, he is old and shouldn't have been in the ring. I agree. I'm just pointing out that the original tweet is false; Mike never had Parkinson's (as far as we know).
You didn't read the article. Jake is frequently high and drunk on these streams and says dumb crap. When he was sober, he clarified that he misspoke. No, he didn't think Mike had Parkinson's because Mike was never diagnosed it with it in the first place, so that idea could have never arrived in Jake's mind. I wouldn't be surprised if Jake didn't actually know what Parkinson's was and confused it for something else when he was high on that stream with Adin. Guy is dumb as hell and has no medical knowledge whatsoever.
Well, even if he does, two things:
1. How would Jake himself know that Tyson has Parkinson's if Tyson was never formally diagnosed with it? Even if he were, his team obviously wouldn't want this information out, which is why they refuted it as soon as this clip came out. How would Jake gain special access to this information?
2. Why would an athletic commission sanction a professional heavyweight fight involving a man with Parkinson's disease? That wouldn't even be in the realm of possibility. I know people like to think that all governing bodies are corrupt, but you can't default to that reason each time. If they thought Mike were fit enough to fight, I would assume they were right. Innocent until proven guilty.
Mike never even exhibited any signs of having the disease. Those pictures of him in a wheelchair have nothing to do with Parkinson's. You guys always make the most cynical assumptions and then act as if they are 100% true.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jake didn't even know what Parkinson's disease was and confused it for something else. Like you said, the guy is dumb as hell. Add a daily dose of psychedelics and multiple bottles of alcohol, and he's bound to stay stuff like this. I remember him saying he lost to Tommy Fury because he had a wet dream the night before the fight. You shouldn't take everything this guy says seriously.
People get so vindictive about a freaking sport they don't even play as a job that they relish when other people get heartbroken, even freaking children who probably wouldn't consent to having their reactions recorded. I enjoy football, but this sport can make some people turn into completely immature bellends.
Really? That is very strange behavior from people online. I haven't seen any of it, but, if it is there, it's another case of the Internet twisting the truth to fit their narrative. Could you point some of those posts out? Not being rhetorical; I'm genuinely curious what they had to say and how they got to their absurd conclusions.
Once again, she quoted a tweet that used "evidence" and went viral, and millions of people around the world believed in the "Jake Paul curse". I'm not even joking. On TikTok and Instagram, everyone was saying BS such as "there's no such thing as a coincidence", garnering millions of likes.
This is so cowardly from her and her fans to act like she was joking when she clearly wasn't. I know what a joke is. I know what satire and irony are. @thatstarwarsgrl wasn't joking because she has an obvious disdain for Jake Paul (don't blame her for that) and believes in all sorts of ridiculous conspiracy theories. There was no hint of irony in either of her tweets.
It's so easy to be part of the hate mob and be genuinely serious when everyone is on your side, then backtrack a few months later with the "It was all a joke!" excuse because people are starting to realize how absurd those conspiracies were.
Backtracking, huh? Doubling down on a take without any obvious (or even subtle) signs of sarcasm and then being like "I was obviously not being serious!" 5 months later is one of the most cowardly things someone can do.
You don't quote a viral tweet where someone is genuinely trying to make a case about another person being an attempted murderer as evidence, saying "I'm pointing out a pattern; open your eyes", and then say that anyone who believed you weren't joking is stupid. That's such a degenerate thing to do.
Go back to making 10-minute videos complaining about "wokeness" whenever Brie Larson even shows her face on a movie set. You genuinely make the Internet a dumber place.
