@mickeylanana We monitor persons of interest. Signing a petition doesn't make someone a POI. Posting a petition, on the other hand, is a different matter. Same for YT vids and FB groups.
@mickeylanana 10s of 1000s? There's a handful of active interested parties discussing the case on line but it's double figures at most. Most people accepted the findings of the coroner. The harm you're causing to Nikki's family is far greater than any other influence you might think you have.
@mickeylanana I'm here to correct misunderstandings. You are deliberately trying to convince people that your misunderstandings are fact - they're not, and they're doing a lot of damage. Our family liaison teams will be working with the family for years - we see the human damage you cause.
@mickeylanana I would never generalise and say members of the public are morons. People who think they know more than people who have dedicated their entire lives to this sort of thing because they read an article online are morons. Dunning Kruger writ large.

@mickeylanana Just a random thought, how much experience do you have with bodies that have been submerged for week? How much experience do you even have with bodies? Have you ever examined one? Seen one?
@mickeylanana @BrocqChristine@backinyerpram@Phil_Overton And you're so stupid that you can only consider that the 2 events can only be directly linked. This is why you're spending your days and nights screaming into the ether whilst trained professionals do the real Police work.
@BrocqChristine@backinyerpram @mickeylanana @Phil_Overton The problem will arise when the next "white knight magnet" case occurs - we've seen the damage TCCs did to the Police's reputation and the family/friends of Nikki Bulley, they now know which buttons to press. We're ready for them though. (2/2)
@BrocqChristine@backinyerpram @mickeylanana @Phil_Overton There's a common theme of compulsive or obsessive personality disorders. Transitioning to online allows an outlet for otherwise antisocial behaviour patterns. Now the NB case has concluded, it's fairly safe to keep these opinions within their own little 'community' (1/2)
@mickeylanana @backinyerpram@Phil_Overton It's absolutely not, and the fact that you think so is part of the problem. We profile people like you and understand a lot about the kind of cases that attract your attention. Unfortunately, it's still difficult to prevent the damage you cause using current legislation.
It's then that things start to spiral out of control as they're operating in a sphere beyond the judgement of loved ones. They'd be mortified if family found out what they were up to. There are a lot of parallels with other nefarious online activities. (2/2)
@backinyerpram @mickeylanana @Phil_Overton In my experience, the more extreme end of the True Crime Community are quite secretive about their online activity. There's an element of awareness that they are becoming overly obsessed with a case, and that is when they start hiding their interest from friends/family... (1/2)

@Phil_Overton @mickeylanana We made a judgement call that the TCC's who were threatening to disrupt the inquest didn't have the collective IQ to mount a serious protest. Policing an attack by keyboard warriors is relatively cheap.
@DEcitsuj@peter_faulding@panmacmillan I wonder what principles he was drawing upon when he chose to exploit a giving family in order to promote this book.
@DEcitsuj Lancs Police don't have the authority to close social media accounts. We have no need to either. It's the NoK's prerogative to keep accounts open or active - many people do as a way of keeping their loved one's memory alive, but you'll appreciate, it's a relatively modern issue.
