According to information obtained from the field, during Puntland President Deni’s last two visits to Mogadishu, a large number of his security personnel arrived in the city carrying heavy weapons, including RPGs and B-9 recoilless rifles. These weapons were reportedly later handed over to militias affiliated with Hassan Ali Khaire and Sheikh Sharif. It is also understood that these weapons were among those supplied by the UAE and intended for shipment to Sudan.
