I met Rt Hon Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, today at State House Entebbe. We discussed investment and ways to strengthen the partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom. I also called upon British and European investors to take a keen interest in investing in Africa, as the continent has enormous potential for economic growth, trade, and prosperity. I welcome her.
In the picture, I am with Mr. Cohen Carlos, who owns Feldstein Co. Ltd., a gold refinery in Kampala. It refines Uganda’s gold to a purity level of 99.9%, which recently was earning USD 173,000 per kilogram. On account of the war in the Gulf of Persia, the price is now USD 129,000.
This particular one and a half kilograms of gold that I am holding is from Ibanda. Mr. Cohen is building another refinery in Morulem, Abim.
Uganda is waking up. We have 10 licensed gold refineries in Uganda. Mr. Cohen’s refineries are printing the Bank of Uganda logo on the gold bars.
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni
Ssaabalwanyi.
@StateHouseUg Congratulations on this important milestone. Wishing State House success in implementing these strategic initiatives to strengthen service delivery, accountability, and citizen-centred governance.
State House today launched its Strategic Development Plan, Client Charter and Service Delivery Standards at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to excellence, accountability, transparency and citizen-centred service delivery. The strategic documents will strengthen institutional performance and enhance support to the Presidency in the execution of its constitutional mandate.
Launching the documents on behalf of the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Santa Sandra Alum Ogwang said they will guide the implementation of Government priorities under the 2026–2031 NRM Manifesto and NDP IV.
We can not forget that this is the day a beautiful baby girl came into the world. That baby was Diana, the one who took her grandmother's name, Kyaremera. So, happy birthday Kyaremera. With all our love.
@KagutaMuseveni Investing in safer building standards today will help protect future generations. A timely focus on disaster risk reduction.

@KagutaMuseveni Diplomatic service builds lasting bridges between nations. Thank you for your commitment, and wishing you every success in the next chapter of your journey.
Later, I met the outgoing High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania, Maj. Gen. Paul Kisesa Simuli, and the outgoing Ambassador of Sweden, Carina Maria Håkansson, who paid me farewell courtesy calls. We discussed matters of mutual interest and our continued cooperation. I thank them for their service and wish them good luck in their future endeavours.
Today, I chaired the first Cabinet meeting of the new administration following the successful Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi. I urged the ministers to remain focused on disciplined implementation, accountability and efficient service delivery as we work to fulfil the NRM’s commitment of securing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation over the next five years.
@SpireJim Then asking you as who and what is that person asking you all those going to add to Ugandans, what Uganda is going to lose in case the person fails to come?
