@GossiTheDog Such a tired trope. I'm American & I get 7 unrestricted weeks off plus holidays. I also can draw additional time for childcare leave at ½ pay on demand without affecting benefits or bonuses (not paternity/maternity/adoption leave, which would be 6 months with full pay).
@H3KTlC I interviewed for a job years ago, where even in the interview they made it clear that after putting in an 8 to 10 hour day, which is bad enough, I'd expected to read industry news in my free time. I am very grateful I did not get that job.
