@kelsieswrites So many of us have followed Chris’s story, and his strength in the fight of this terrible disease. Know that we collectively hold you now in your grief. I am so very sorry. Sending love and gentle hugs ❤️
@GovNL@HCS_GovNL@CMOH_NL The last time we had wildfires and an air quality advisory I ended up admitted to hospital with a severe and very scary asthma attack. These warnings are a big deal for those of us with airway issues, and much appreciated.
@drlorileeoates Somewhat separate issues that have merit on their own, but yes, all would help. The cost of living is unmanageable for many if not most NL families right now. It’s hard to flip to more energy efficient means when the costs are high.
@drlorileeoates Energy rebates and consistent marketing to people and contractors building new homes would help. We have friends building a home and they are doing an ICF build with a heat pump to intentionally make the home more energy efficient. I don’t think they thought of solar too.
Notice to our community: We’ve recently learned of a motorcycle and truck convoy that has been promoted as taking place on our property on August 27th. This event was not approved by us and will not be taking place on Avalon Mall property. Apologies for any confusion that 1/2
@cathydelaney This is so precious!!! Thank you so much for making this, for caring for our little people and guiding them so beautifully this past year. You are THE BEST!!!❤️ Have a fabulous summer!
@drDavidKeegan@AHS_media As an immunocompromised person, I avoided seeking care at the ED for too long because the mask mandate has been dropped here. I was scared. It meant I was in much worse condition by the time I had no choice but to go in, ending up admitted and in major distress. Thank you
Canadians, when are we going to do something about COVID?
The gray bars in this chart are % excess mortality from Jan 25/20-Dec 31/22 in Canada's fastest reporting provinces: NL, QC, AB, BC.
Dec 31/22 excess mortality is at the peak of the 1st wave of 2020.
This is grotesque.
@beachycoveelem@cathydelaney Our little one is in this class and they keep telling me I give the best cuddles because I’m “so squishy” 😆. Zero filters at this age!
@mynlcorner Taking my little one out for supper and watching how messy and excited they got while eating spaghetti. This was the first time I didn’t cut it up first and the excitement of slurping up those long noodles was the highlight of the evening.
@GovNL@HCS_GovNL@TomOsborneMHA Let’s increase the scope for our pharmacists to decrease the burden on primary care. As an example, in other provinces they can do a rapid strep test and prescribe antibiotics. Instead we tie up the Janeway and adult emergency departments here.
@Bookshepherd1 I love historical fiction. It is my all time favourite genre but I am challenging myself to try new things this last year. A new favourite would be Nora and Charlie in Book Lovers by Emily Henry.
@Bookshepherd1 There’s no protection out there anymore. I have friends told to attend medical appts at the hospital on day 3 of covid with a VERY positive rapid test as long as they wear a flimsy medical mask & no fever and a healthcare provider friend told to report to work a few days in too
