@japan_nobunaga Secondly, no. It doesn't make me want to buy those shoes. Mainly because it's a Nike ad & they've proved they don't care about women. Also, those shoes are ugly.
I love seeing women who look like me in media, especially being active. There's a way present it & this isn't it.
@japan_nobunaga First of all, body shaming is mean spirited. Even if you don't like it, bodies like that are a lot of women's realities. Love the skin you're in and all that. Doesn't mean we aren't making strides to get "in shape". It means we aren't hiding while we do it.
@imPenny2x Finding a church that's right for you can be a journey. You can look up churches online. Many have mission statements that talk about what their goals are and who they are trying to reach. Also, they might have services uploaded so you can see if you connect with their message.
@HazelAppleyard It's not just to protect the cousin, it's to protect him as well. Maybe he's not actually creepy, but if the doors closed and the cousin accuses him of something, he's probably SOL- even if he didn't do anything. Unfortunately, it's the world we live in.
@HazelAppleyard I would have appreciated a trigger warning. This is so disgusting and deviant, it almost makes me physically ill. I could not read it all.
And this is who women are supposed to make nice with? I know they aren't all like this, but we can't know who is and who isn't. Smh
@LilaGraceRose As long as it's done ethically, I think this is a good thing. Not everyone can conceive naturally or adopt. I know a couple that did this and used embryo they had stored. Also, I'd love to adopt existing embryos. If this legislation makes that possible, I'm all for it.
@Opiumbrella Yes, grieving who you wanted her to be as a mother is understandable. I applaud you for taking care of someone who deserves nothing from you. That says a lot about your character and what kind of person you turned out to be, in spite of having her for a mother. Love and prayers!
@HazelAppleyard_ Also, the irony of the song chosen:
I built a home for you, for me
Until it disappeared from me, from you
And now, it's time to leave
And turn to dust
These kids will grow up and be just as confused as ever because their home was not the safe place it should've been.
The internet shutdown in Afghanistan happened in real time in my online poetry class on Monday. The women's accounts dropped out one by one. The last to go was Neda. Just before her image froze, I promised to put her poem on Twitter. She's 11. Online was her last hope of education. @WRNAfghanistan
#BREAKING: Taliban have imposed a nationwide internet ban in Afghanistan.🇦🇫💔

Please share 😡😡😡😡😭💔
@thisisfoster Are grown up people seriously picking on someone's kid? It's fine to disagree, but to be an out right bully says more about you than that hat does about him. 🤷🏾♀️
Afghan women are not giving up but they are running out of options.
The world must act now, before the last light of hope is extinguished.
Please share and talk 💔
The Taliban counts on you scrolling past.
Don’t.
Our last connection to Afghan women and girls is the internet. If it’s cut, they vanish from the world’s view.
Don’t allow erasure. Don’t allow gender apartheid.
