Iran, on the other hand, is a signatory:
– Its nuclear program is under IAEA inspection
– It claims peaceful use
– And yet, it’s targeted with accusations of violating the NPT — by a country not even bound by it.

This highlights a deep flaw in the international system.

NPT basics:
– Signed by 191 countries
– Only 5 recognized as Nuclear Weapon States: USA, Russia, China, UK, France
– The rest (including Iran, Türkiye, Germany, Japan, Brazil, South Korea) pledged not to pursue nuclear weapons.

4 countries are not part of NPT:
– Israel
– India
– Pakistan
– North Korea (withdrew after joining)
All four possess nuclear weapons.

Yet, only Iran faces military threats for its nuclear program.

This reveals the structural injustice in global nuclear governance — where rules don’t apply equally.
