A moment of tranquility for the end of the year.
Let's keep finding and appreciating little moments in our daily lives.
Happy holidays!

I've been away from social networks for a while, but #autumn is too beautiful not to share. Here some impressions from my recent walk at Berliner #Müggelsee 🍂

August was the Month of the #Sea! In memories at least. And here are the highlights: from rough azure #beaches and wild bays of #Hawaii, to surreal pink #sunset in Barbados and hopeful sun patch on the surface of the Adriatic Sea in Croatia.

Dot in a Bog.
#Lake Wildsee, the largest of its kind in Germany, is part of unique, acidic, #wetland – raised #bog, where nutrient-poor peat accumulates instead of soil, due to incomplete decomposition of plant material in oxygen-depleted soil. - /1

Walk in a bog. #Bogs are #wetlands with extreme conditions – acidic and nutrient-poor, home to specialized species such as sphagnum mosses and Scots #pines. In such unique #ecosystem, material brought in on shoes can disturb natural balance, therefore visitors must use boardwalks
Beauty is in Little #Moments.
We don't always need to travel to see #beautiful things. If we pay attention, we’ll notice them everywhere around us, including simple, #ordinary things we see every day. All it really takes is to #TakeAMoment and #look around you.
#FridayThoughts
-- After a 2.5-month summer break (I'd usually spent at 🌊as a child), it wasn't too bad to get back to class, friends and schoolbooks. To this day, selection of pens and notebooks that „inspire me“ and „fit“ to every subject remains my favorite work-prep activity 😊📝📚
Back to the Hive.
Although #summer is not yet technically over, for me it ends with the beginning of #September. In my home country, Serbia, the 1st of September is traditionally when a new school year starts. -/1

#Sunset splash.
It’s always a bit saddening to realize that days are getting shorter & nights are cooling down as August comes to an end, announcing the end of #holidays & return to everyday life. Bye, #seaside! I haven’t even seen you this #summer, but #melancholy is there.
-- Parrotfish bites off & chews parts of corals, ingesting algae & excreting ground calcareous skeleton as fine sand. In many places it is now forbidden to remove sand & shells from beaches, as removal of these materials threatens the future of delicate coastal ecosystems. /2
Fine White Powder.
That fine #sand, that you may enjoy feeling between your toes when on the #beach, takes thousands, even mil of years to form. This involves erosion & weathering of stones & pebbles, but in #coral islands like in the #Caribbean, also parrotfish poop. /1

Beach Ride.
Surprisingly popular activity of local Indonesians, from what I have seen in #Lombok, is to ride a motorcycle up & down the #beach front. Didn’t seem like much fun to me, especially given the high-pitch noise these scooters can produce.
