@tinkle14 Ah yes - in my younger days I saw Brubeck on stage in a double bill with MJQ - the Modern Jazz Quartet - at the New Victoria. Still have a couple of vinyl LPs of his work - "Countdown Time..." etc. Of the same vintage (though not seen on stage) was Peggy Lee and George Shearing

@MRSarawak @ptsandstampex @The_RPSL @eBay It's not new; I remember years ago that post coming in from the Channel Islands would be intercepted by Royal Mail and where appropriate charging VAT on behalf of Cutoms. Stamp dealers there used various methods to try and get round the issue...

@marina3424 @GWDanceWriter @TeresaGuerreir2 @RoyalOperaHouse I don't think I was suggesting a full comparison - I was offering Swan Lake as also being unsuitable for young children - after all unless you're seeing the current Mariinsky version many others feature a mutual suicide... and if not a double suicide then a single one...

And it is not too much of a stretch of imagination to suggest that appalling situation was a contributor to the pre-WW1 events.
