Most people here know that I was a former lifelong Republican before becoming so disturbed with Trump and the GOP that I left the party, both in vote, and identity.

I’ve been a proud Democrat for close to six years now.

What fewer people know, however, is that I voted for Barrack Obama in 2008, and that we kept our oldest daughter home from Kindergarten on Inauguration Day, so she could be part of watching the first African American be sworn in as President of the United States of America. It was very special, and for reasons I still can’t accurately describe or explain, I cried.

Tonight, I am thrilled to have my son and youngest daughter sit down with me, and watch that same man talk about the person who will be the first Woman to become President of the United States of America. An African American Woman…at that.

We are the people. We are the ones who, collectively, get to make this happen in November. We’ll walk through fire and crawl across broken glass, if we must, but get it done…we will.
