Instead of saying you gave your life to Christ, you can say any of these:
1. I received the life of Christ.
2. I became saved.
3. I accepted Him as my Savior and Lord.
4. I found a new life.
5. I surrendered to Jesus.

Technically,  you didn't give your life to Christ it was him who gave you his. Knowing this is proof that you have a good foundational knowledge of salvation.
The default state of man before redemption was death(spiritual) and there was no way the dead could give life.

we are the beneficiaries not the benefactor – His life is the benefit.
John 15:13: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. [KJV]

Moreover, we can't downplay these. Never!

Ministry is not limited to the pews and pulpits. Your call can be fulfilled in every landscape the Lord has strategically placed you. That's the reason you are called the light of the world; not the church!

Listen, 👂 Nature will fight you for choosing God's will. Friends might mock you, family might desert you. Doing God's will isn't easy, if it were easy Joseph wouldn't have landed in the pit or prison. But this you must always remember; every setdown is for a setup with God.
