Governments have obligations to their citizens, no matter who they are. They only have specific, limited power over their citizens. Most importantly, citizens have the right to overthrow their government at any time, if corrupted.
Philosophy 101:
1. Humans are not born with a moral compass. There is no morality in the state of nature. Only predetermined rules can decide what makes an action good or bad.
2. People consistently yearn for pride, competition, and glory. They will stop at nothing to get this.
