Island in the Sun barely made it onto the Weezer album (the 2001 Green Album). Rivers Cuomo had already put the track aside, but producer Ric Ocasek (the same one who produced the Blue Album) insisted until it was included. It became one of the band's biggest hits outside the US (Top 20 in the UK and France).
The Black Crowes performing “Remedy” at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards was all swagger, soul, and Southern rock fire. Chris Robinson had that wild frontman energy, and the band made the whole thing feel loose, loud, and alive.
Ann Wilson and Warren Haynes found each other on a Wednesday night in Port Chester and turned "Bridge of Sighs" into something Robin Trower never could have predicted.
“Communication Breakdown” is 57 years old.
Jimmy Page is 25 in this clip, playing French TV like he’s already bored with being the best guitarist alive.
They never did television again after this.
Underrated Guitar Hero: Nuno Bettencourt
1/5 – Roots
Born in Portugal and raised in Hudson Mass, Nuno exploded onto the scene with Extreme.
“Play With Me,” off their debut album, showed speed, control, and attitude right out of the gate.
The Rolling Stones - Till the Next Goodbye
A beautifully weary sketch of a love affair coming to a close. Stolen moments, in low-key New York spots, the bittersweet sound of a relationship ending without ill-feeling.
1974.
@SalvadorDafti Probably one of their best ballads to be fair, yet so overlooked. Interesting bunch of promos they did for several songs off that album, including this one which features very nice backing vocals (incl Taylor) that the album version doesn't have: https://t.co/OOC7y5c8WC
