The photo of a player who’s flame never died, willing to continue in the competitive scene to accomplish her promise to her old colleagues she came a long way wanting to find the light at the end of the tunnel
Selene- “my run is not over until I say so”
We're devastated to learn about the sudden passing of our friend, the legendary Tom Kane.
As the original voice of Takeo Masaki and countless other beloved roles over the years, Tom's iconic talent and unwavering kindness will last with us all our lives.
Our thoughts go out to his loved ones, and he will always be in our hearts.
The worst thing you can see happen to someone is them being consumed by jealousy. They lose their sense of self worth & try so hard to become someone else to the point they forget who they are.
Never let jealousy consume you. Keep being yourself and shine! 🩷
I personally haven't thankfully experienced a lot of these things myself in this community. At best I've been sexually objectified (sadly), but I know several people who have disregarded and mistreated both women and transfems that I cared about. And trust me I want to say names
My heart breaks for everyone sharing their story
"This happens less in this community, we're accepting!" is a flat response and is essentially saying "yeah it's bad but not as bad as-" when in any other comp game, women are treated significantly worse
I really don't understand the point of being toxic at all especially in splatoon like this scene is tiny compared to other shooters and there's literally no financial incentive everyone playing competitively just does so because the game is amazing
that's just my opinion tho
some of u fuckheads have to be put down, what's wrong with u.
did your parents not teach you how to act with a girl or what, even if they didn't, it's common sense not to act like fucking weirdos.
Genuely please castrate yourselves
It really sucks seeing how often women cant just enjoy a game and HAVE to be subjected to being objectified or reduced to just another potential girlfriend and how much we dont know just how often this kinda stuff actually happens
I had to deal with stuff like "Girls Duo Cup isn't necessary, it's discriminatory against men / there should be a men only tournament too" and every so often, someone would come up to me and say that some guy had a crush on me or had been flirting with me before, so all my +
I recently came back to this scene thinking it was gonna be better but it’s really not, the scene has been stuck like this for like a good while and it truly disappoints me how it is heavily disrespectful towards woman it feels like it’s never gonna change due to how people are
its crazy to me that the competitive scene for this game has not changed much from when i left, its truly insane to me the amount of disrespect to women in the scene receive
Really respect the women and girls who are talking about this loudly. I’m not comp, but as someone who is *visible* in the community, I’ve experienced so much harassment and vitriol. It doesn’t matter the game, it’s the same in *every* gaming community.
