FROM BAUCHI TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE -ZADOK YOHANNA’S STORY WILL MAKE YOU CRY ‼️👏
This boy left his family as a 12 year old in Bauchi. Moved alone to Kaduna. No big name. No connection. Just ball and belief.
Started at Ikon Allah Academy a local Nigerian football academy most people have never heard of. Fast forward to 2025, he moved to Sweden to join AIK. Within two months, they promoted him from the youth team to the first team. Scouts from 32 clubs were coming to watch HIM play.
Chelsea wanted him. Newcastle wanted him. Real Madrid was watching. Borussia Dortmund. Leverkusen. 32 clubs were in the stands for one Nigerian boy from Bauchi.
He chose Brighton. €30 million. Five-year contract. The most expensive transfer in Swedish league history.
And when his agent called his father to confirm the signing? Zadok broke down in tears.
That’s not a transfer. That’s a testimony.
This is what happens when a child who has nothing refuses to become nothing. Nigeria did not fail Zadok. Zadok refused to let his environment write his ending.
If you’re somewhere today feeling like your starting point disqualifies you, read this story again.
Your academy is not your destiny. Your city is not your ceiling. Your beginning is not your boundary.
The Premier League was not built for boys from Bauchi until one from Bauchi built his way into it.
Run your race. Your breakthrough has a date on it. 🇳🇬
Looking at the profile of Estevao Williams and Zadok Yohanna, it's undebatable that 🇳🇬 Nigeria as quality talents as Brazil 🇧🇷.
The problem is just development.
The most interesting part about this particular video was where he asked about his mom, and the Dad replied, "Ta je Doka" in hausa, meaning She went to Doka, this place is like a forest where people primarily go to farm, since the raining season just started.
Mumsy doesn't know she might not touch a hoe or see the bush for the rest of her life again, and honestly, this is what we all long for.
Congratulations Zadok
This brings me back to our argument about professional and unprofessional players.
I told you people that the difference between professionals and unprofessionals is fitness, not talent. People kept arguing that you can't be better than anybody in Europe. What you lack is opportunity. Who don sabi don sabi. Football is a gift.
Zadok had not played one minute of professional football in Nigeria. He was spotted by a scout and sent to Sweden to play with and against professionals. In a year, his impact in Sweden got him a big move to Brighton.
From grassroot to dominating Swedish top league to moving to Brighton. "The best player in Nigeria cannot be better than the lowest ranked player in division 3" una. Go pursue am na
“My teammates in Nigeria call me Riyad Mahrez, they said I dribble & play like Riyad Mahrez not even Lamine Yamal or Olise & Riyad Mahrez is underrated but I love him”

🇳🇬 ZADOK YOHANNA (18) AT BRIGHTON! 🔥
Premier League might not be ready for the Nigerian star yet. 💫
A top talent with huge potential, still developing but already showing exciting quality. ✨
All he wanted was a chance to do what he loves - play football.
That chance is here, and Zadok Yohana is about to give Premier League defenders a firsthand look at what he's made of.
Go and shine, boy.
Funny how Zadok was dropped from the U-17 Golden Eaglets🇳🇬 team in 2023.
3 years later, he comes into the EPL & has been invited to join the Super Eagles 🦅🇳🇬⚽
So many lessons to learn!🔥
TIME, CHANCE, SEASON! 🙏
I want everyone to understand that this isn’t normal.
It’s unheard of for a football player in Nigeria to make this kind of jump in his career in such a short period of time. Destiny 👏🏽
Zadok papa no even realize wetin the boy don do for their family. He just say “congratulations” casually. Naso the life of their whole generation don change like that.
Olódùmarè, let me be a beacon of light for this current generation of the Onitọlọ family.
