@shawn_dubs That’s funny, but my son (who’s your age) taught me last year that I was peeling bananas wrong. I’m just grateful that at 68, I’m still riding my bike 🚴and learning new things😊

@shawn_dubs Rode the trails this morning, got lost a couple of times (figured it out) ended up on Reno with no bike lanes for a mile (won’t do that again) But, had a great ride, am going to do it again in the morning after the Downs Syndrome run.Thank you for the encouragement :)

@shawn_dubs Yes, I usually ride with my son but he’s out of town a lot now. Most of my friends don’t bike. I probably need to look for some bike friends. I’ve been riding for several years and will never stop.

@shawn_dubs Hey Shawn, I’m really thinking about starting to ride the trails, especially the one from Bass Pro, following the river. Do you think its safe to ride alone? I’ve been a bit hesitant as they seem secluded. But I’d like to increase my distance.

@jospacebear I used that bike lane for the first time Friday morning. They’re beautiful and I felt pretty protected from the Classen traffic.

@shawn_dubs I have a hard time finding racks in that area when I have a closing or appt. I’ve had to park my bike a couple of blocks away from my destination before.

@jospacebear @shawn_dubs Biking to my destination in downtown OKC on Robinson at 7:30am today, the driver of a big diesel truck behind me decided to scare me by gunning his engine several times before yelling “ get off the road. It’s for cars” 🤬

@shawn_dubs That’s bad but I have had several near misses on the corner of OKC Blvd and Robinson. Big trucks and hot cars don’t seem to like to stop at the stop light before turning south. I make eye contact and ring the bell on my bike. Drivers need to learn bike safety.

@jospacebear Having a nonprofit that services the TBI community, I knew the right questions to ask him. I learned he experienced unexpected bouts of rage. I knew I could not take a risk of driving him to a shelter myself.

@jospacebear Thank you. Expanding to weekends is essential. Two years ago I was trying to get help for a homeless TBI survivor who had just been dropped off at the Sonic by the hospital. I needed to get him to a shelter but the dispatcher could only suggest I put him in my car.
