@DanielsonKassa1 When such a blatant lie comes from someone who previously posted such admiration👇 for President Isaias Afwerki, either he is the one severely suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, or the Potemkin Party’s Intelligence Service (NISS) has resorted to spreading blatant disinformation.

#Eritrea: Statement by Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam at the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue; Geneva 15 June 2026
*"...Eritrea rejects the report before the Council as fundamentally flawed in its methodology, unsupported by independently verified information, and disconnected from realities on the ground. Its findings and conclusions therefore lack credibility and cannot serve as a reliable basis for informed deliberation or action by this Council".
*"...The Special Rapporteur argues that his mandate is indispensable as the only international mechanism responsible for monitoring Eritrea. This assertion disregards the existence of multiple United Nations mechanisms, including the Universal Periodic Review, treaty bodies, specialized agencies, and other intergovernmental processes through which all Member States, including Eritrea, are regularly assessed".
*"...Eritrea has maintained its sovereignty, preserved social stability, sustained public administration, and continued the delivery of essential services despite decades of conflict, sanctions, and external pressures. While acknowledging the need for continued progress, this reality is fundamentally inconsistent with the picture repeatedly presented through this mandate".
*:...When a country-specific mechanism persists despite sustained questions regarding its selectivity, methodology, and balance, it risks shifting from a tool of engagement into one of entrenchment. Rather than promoting constructive dialogue, it perpetuates a divisive process that has failed to command broad confidence among Member States.... Eritrea therefore rejects both the report and the resolution before the Council and reiterates its call for the termination of this mandate".

#Eritrea: Ministry of Foreign Affairs commemorated, in conjunction with the Africa Group (i.e. African Ambassadors accredited to Eritrea), Africa Day at Asmara Palace yesterday under the theme: "Africa: one heart, one land , one destiny".
Keynote Addresses by FM Osman Saleh and South Africa's Ambassador Mr. Perseverance Mbuzeli Kumsha.
Yesterday's event was preceded by various joint activities earlier in the week including panel discussion on "African Unity in the Changing Global Order", and, a football match between FM staff and a selected team from the African Embassies in Eritrea.
FM Osman underlined, among other matters:
*"...This year’s theme of the African Union is: 'Assuring sustainable water availability and safe sanitation systems to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063'. This theme is not only timely—it is foundational".
*"...It is essential to recognize that Africa is a rich continent endowed with precious natural resources; resources that can drive inclusive growth and sustainable development, provided that we manage them with integrity, discipline, and shared long-term vision".
*"...Africans are united in spirit. And now, more than ever, we must also be united in action - united in changing global realities and shaping a fairer world. Africa should earn its rightful place in the global arena, not through division, but through solidarity. We will no longer accept being left behind in international decisions. It is through unity that Africa can prosper politically and economically in this changing world order.... In conclusion, I wish to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of African unity, and to the shared mission of ensuring that every African - woman, man, child - can enjoy clean water, safe sanitation, and the dignity that comes with it".
Ambassador Kumsha, for his part, underlined:
"Africa Day is more than commemoration; it is a reaffirmation of our collective journey, that we are bound by a common destiny. This is a golden opportunity for us to conduct a continental introspection...we need smart partnership".

Joined collegues to sign the #UN80 poster containing the preamble of the @UN Charter. By signing the #UN80_Charter poster, #Eritrea joins Member States in reaffirming our shared responsibility to preserve and strengthen the Charter as the foundation of international peace, security, and cooperation for present and future generations.
As the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary, the #resilience of the Organization will continue to be tested by emerging global challenges, geopolitical tensions, and threats to international peace and security.
It is therefore imperative that the @UN remain faithful to the #Charter, uphold the principles of sovereign equality, mutual respect, and international cooperation, and strengthen its capacity to respond effectively to the aspirations of all peoples.
