@TeamYouTube Genuine question: Why do account hijacking investigations take so long, especially when a takeover and unauthorized changes seem obvious? Im currently going through this myself and it feels like the longer it takes, the more time hackers have to do further damage ;_;

@KanikouEstellia @achanaruu @discord @discord_support For me, it was the recent "Orbital Gear" game on Steam. It had an RCE vulnerability which allowed the hacker to install a RAT on my computer and it was ggs from there.

Still trying to recover my Gmail and then I'll see if I can recover my Discord :/

Iam absolutely DISAPPOINTED by @discord @discord_support's security system. My account got hacked, the hacker set up their own 2FA, and guess what? Discord chose to PROTECT the hacker instead of me, the original owner with all the billing proofs! 😡

@ShadowNaruVT @discord_support Did you get your email hacked too? If not, just submit a ticket under the email attached to the Discord (even if it was compromised).

If email was hacked, prioritize getting that back.

A years old account suddenly has its DOB changed, recovery info replaced, and gets put under family supervision? You'd think that would raise serious red flags and make recovery quick

@tinycactvs Another recent one was the "Orbital Gear" game on Steam. It's been since removed from the store, however this otherwise normal Steam game (and others like it) have an RCE vulnerability, where hackers can remotely execute code on your PC to steal your accounts. Stay safe.

@VoidsChaos Best of luck. You should first prioritize getting your Gmail back. To my understanding, Discord won't even help unless you get this back. I'm currently in process of getting my Gmail back and then will pursue Discord further.

@cuppachae Nah, don't even feel bad about not knowing this. I got my Discord hacked by downloading a game on STEAM of all places. Tldr, I didn't know a friend had their Discord compromised, they pretended to be said friend as we played a game on Steam that had an RCE vulnerability.

Don't give up though. I'm currently in the process of recovering my Gmail. Prioritize that first! Send tweets out to @TeamYouTube for help and submit a case to Google.

@dearNinette I recently had my Discord hacked as well as the Gmail attached to it. You likely had a RAT on your computer. If your antivirus wasn't picking it up, it's likely the hackers added an exclusion to have it skip the detection. Full format your PC. Possibly even phone.

My Gmail account got compromised. My phone number is still attached, however attempting to recover it through this is locked by an unauthorized Parental Lock. The person who hacked me added my account to a Family Link. Please help as soon as possible. @TeamYouTube
