Wild statement

What happened in the Morocco–Senegal final was a complete disappointment not just for Moroccan fans but for football itself. CAF and FIFA should be ashamed of how this match was handled.

The Senegalese team did not simply play football they played the referee. Endless theatrics pressure tactics and deliberate disruption of the game flow were used old cheap tricks that have nothing to do with winning with honor. What made it worse was that the referee allowed it. Rules were bent discipline was ignored and the match was allowed to spiral into chaos.

Football is built on respect respect for the rules the referee and the opponent. What we witnessed was the opposite and yet it was rewarded.

Let me be clear I have no issue celebrating Senegal if they win with dignity. But winning through manipulation intimidation and tolerated misconduct is not victory it is failure dressed as success.

I am genuinely shocked that Walid Regragui a coach known for discipline and intelligence allowed this to pass without a stronger stance. I am even more shocked that the referee set such a dangerous precedent teaching players across Africa that drama and pressure can overpower the laws of the game.

If football leadership had real courage this match would be replayed not as punishment but as a lesson. A lesson that rules matter that respect matters and that football will not be hijacked by theatrics and intimidation.

Because if this becomes the standard then we are no longer watching sport we are watching a performance.
