April 26 is recognized as Intl #Chornobyl Disaster Remembrance Day. Today we remember the victims of one of the largest nuclear power plant disasters in history. We reaffirm support for the survivors who battle serious health complications & urge the practice of nuclear safety.
Reiterating support for #Ukraine’s sovereignty & territorial integrity on the 5th
anniversary of Russia’s illegal annexation of #Crimea. Echoing calls for the
immediate end of human rights abuses being perpetrated against Ukrainians,
Crimean Tatars & others in occupied Crimea.
Arrived in Ethiopia and learned hours later of the fatal crash of flight ET302, which claimed the lives of 157 individuals, including 18 Canadians. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their lives and their families and friends. (1/2)
