New research found that 80% of national and 90% of New Jersey samples of water from lakes and streams had PFAS contamination. PFAS is linked to cancer, hormone disruption, developmental issues, and more. Meanwhile, Trump’s EPA is trying to weaken PFAS limits in drinking water.

Civilians and journalists should never be targets. I'm horrified by attacks on Palestinian villagers and Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine. This attack, along with reports that nearby Israeli security forces did not intervene, demands a full investigation and real accountability—as do the many other instances of settler violence against Palestinian civilians and land in the West Bank.

This is exactly why I introduced the West Bank Violence Prevention Act. Extremist settler violence, which endangers lives and undermines peace and security in the region, must end.

I am deeply disturbed by the alleged white supremacist plot to attack a Hindu temple in Aurora, Illinois. This kind of Anti-Hindu and anti-Indian hate should have no place in our country.

Grateful to law enforcement for acting swiftly and stopping this attack. We must have zero tolerance for this violence and must work together as one people to end it.

The mass shooting at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend is another horrifying act of violence that has struck our schools. Our schools should be places of safety, dedicated to education and community. No parent should be afraid to drop their kids off at school. But too often, they are now the site of horrible sadness and atrocities. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire community.

Members of Congress owe it to every family affected by gun violence to pass meaningful reforms so this never happens again. I will not rest until every childhood is free from the scourge of gun violence.

NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak operations will be impacted October 11-November 14 as trains completely shift from the Portal Bridge that entered service in 1910 to the new Portal North Bridge, a two-track fixed span bridge. The conclusion of the Portal North cutover and the recent start of tunnel boring for the Hudson Tunnel Project are significant milestones in the 11-project Gateway Program, which will double rail capacity between Newark and New York once completed.
