To be clear, I don’t just hate GenAI. I also hate golf, war, monoculture farming, clear-cutting forests, and building on floodplains. I love biodiversity, wildlife conservation, regenerative forestry, soil restoration, sustainable farming, and economic degrowth.
@howlingnun@stolen_stardust I thought hate reading was just reading something you hate, but you take it to another level where you like…purposefully misunderstand what you’re reading??
funnily enough theres actually a bluey episode where she uses pretend play to process trying to save an injured bird & it dying. & instead of her scene ending with the bird alive, she insists the bird dies in her scene because thats what happened. the lesson is that by leaning into the negative experience in her pretend play, it helped her cope with the reality of death & grief. adults on reddit have admitted to needing to skip this episode& some have even said its too sad & 'unnecessary'. i wonder how many steps away we are from 'its disgusting that bluey is promoting using dark fiction to cope'
I like that building high speed rail in California requires nine thousand years of environmental impact studies but throwing up a data center the size of Texas takes fourteen seconds with zero material public support.
@PeachyFranny I really enjoy dystopian anime, but I felt like psycho-pass only ever preached to the choir. The only people who would find it watchable would be those who already agreed with its premise… which is made for a somewhat pointless social commentary.
In psycho-pass, police investigators become “latent criminals” because of their ability to solve horrific crimes.
And later, victims are labeled latent criminals due to their knowledge of the crimes they endured/witnessed.
This is a dumber version of that.
