As of noon today my legislative career will be complete. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve the people of the 17th Legislative District this past decade. Thank you all. If you wish to keep in touch, I am at @lyndawilson17thLD (X) and https://t.co/2cvXwQ2wja (FB).
Well, today brought my final meeting as a member of the Senate Ways & Means Committee – the panel responsible for the operating and capital budgets. I spent 6 years in all on the committee, serving as Republican leader for the past 4. What an experience… and an honor! #waleg
After attending a lengthy special meeting of the State Building Code Council, I’m not confident the council will admit its anti-natural gas agenda is at odds with the 1.9 million WA voters who – by passing Initiative 2066 – said no to a natural-gas ban in our state. Stay tuned!
From this morning's annual Veterans Day Parade at the Fort Vancouver National Site... thanks to all those who made this possible, and to the veterans it honors!
The Evergreen State College in Olympia is among higher-education institutions named in new U.S. House staff report about antisemitic behavior on U.S. campuses. WA’s higher-ed students deserve free speech protections found in SB 6104, which I co-sponsored.

The Vancouver ballot drop-box arson happened in the legislative district I serve. ABC is reporting a 'Free Gaza' angle, but either way, our state's response doesn't inspire confidence. My comment here: https://t.co/0gIyaWxXh2
My latest e-newsletter looks at the budget situation that will be facing next year's Legislature, as well as a vital public-safety bill that needs to become law! Be sure to vote no later than Nov. 5!

As a co-sponsor of SB 5851 I was glad to see this bipartisan bill move through two committees, including our Ways & Means committee... then politics got in the way. Who opposes teaching about the Holocaust? We must continue fighting for this.
As more children are being exposed to fentanyl – and many have died from it, including a 2 year old recently — King County wants to add fentanyl to child endangerment laws.
The Senate overwhelmingly passed Sen. Lynda Wilson’s SB 5010, twice, to make that important change in law. However, it was blocked by House Democrats despite the pleas of many, including the @seattletimes.
Enough is enough. It's well past time that we offer this added protection for kids.

Less than 2 months after a law I called a “death sentence” for those licensed to sell firearms in WA took effect… a Wenatchee shop says it will end gun sales next year, and points to the Democrats' costly new law. https://t.co/NJzQhVh1OJ
Clark Co auditor says undocumented people signed up to vote. Why hasn’t WA sec’y of state (a D) done more on election integrity? https://t.co/Q80Qher3h4
Republicans warned Democrats not to tie something as important as K-12 education to the tax on capital-gains income, and the latest state revenue forecast confirms why. Details at https://t.co/uogcN42CWB #waleg
The head of WA’s K-12 education agency threw shade on the new Parents’ Bill of Rights in K-12 Education law (created by Initiative 2081) just before it took effect…infuriating! Good that Chris Reykdal got taken down on https://t.co/74BDN1kDxM for standing against parents. #waleg
Supporters of WA capital-gains tax sold it as new funding source for K-12/child care. Now 2nd-year tax receipts are way down… about half of 1st-year collection. Sure enough, people are figuring out how to reduce their exposure. This income tax has always been a BAD IDEA! #waleg
