Three years of the coup, the junta is struggling to crush widespread armed opposition. It suffered stunning losses and depleted a significant manpower due to systematic attacks of ethnic armed organizations and people defense forces.
Military junta just announced to implement the People's Military Service Law that was enacted way back in 2010. It will affect men aged from 18-35 and women aged from 18-27 to serve for at least 2 years term.

The junta conducted air strikes
and artillery shelling, which continued through Thursday noon. The actual number of civilian casualties is believed to be higher. Rescue teams still can’t retrieve dead bodies due to the ongoing airstrikes.
At least 15 civilians including Buddhist nuns and children have been killed and the town heavily damaged in fighting that broke out on Wednesday between junta troops and the KNLA in Zayatgyi Town in Bago Region.

Combined forces of the KA and the KNDF found the victims’ bodies while clearing the area. The slain women were residents of Shadaw identified as Daw Soe Mel, Daw Law Mel and Daw Me Moh. One of the children was Daw Soe Mel’s grandchild, and another was Daw Law Mel’s daughter.
